Trust Service Infrastructure
In order to avoid the risk of spoofing or tampering when data providers provide information to data users, data users need a way to detect these risks. Trust Service Infrastructure can provide the following functions as “Trust Common API” to applications that handle data, including CADDE.
- Uniform confirmation of data origin
- Uniform data tampering detection
- The above two functions can also be used for data received from outside of Japan.
As an initiative to enable the trust service infrastructure to interoperate with domestic and foreign data, we are studying the technical specifications of a “Trusted List (trial version)” that enables comprehensive reference to domestic public and private certification authorities and time stamping authorities as trust anchors. The list of trust anchors will enable signature verification systems to unify the trust anchor references and to confirm the trust level.
